Congratulations to August’s Member of the Month: Harrison Taylor!

Harrison was chosen as this month’s Member of the Month because he embodies Hustle One’s values. Harrison has been a member of Hustle One since October, and is one of the most consistent members at the gym! He shows up everyday with a willingness to increase his strength, and is not afraid to try new things!

Harrison is a blast to have in classes, and makes everybody’s experience more fun!

When did you become a member of Hustle One Fitness?

October 2020

What do you do when you are not at Hustle One Fitness?

I’m a postdoctoral fellow at MUSC studying autoimmunity associated with Lupus and Type 1 Diabetes, which takes up a good bit of my time. In my down time, I love hanging out with friends, going out for a drink, or settling in for a board game night.

How did you find out about Hustle One Fitness?

I actually was moving away from downtown to West Ashley and my gym at the time was in Mount Pleasant (way too far from where I was moving), so I posted a comment asking for gyms in the area and the only comment I got back was for Hustle One!

When/How did you realize Hustle One Fitness was the right fit for you?

I just loved that every day is something different, and the camaraderie of working through a tough workout together is pretty awesome.

What is your favorite movement (ex: Cleans, Running etc)?

Either bench press or bar muscle ups.

What is your least favorite movement?

Overhead Squats

What motivates you to stay fit?

I’m a very competitive person by nature, and I just have this drive to keep improving myself physically to see how strong I can get or how much improvement I can make with myself.

What is something about you that Hustle One members do not know yet?

I have a twin (sister)!

What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Hustle One Fitness?

Mainly to just be open to what the gym offers. Unlike my past few experiences with functional fitness, the coaches really care about your well-being and everything is scalable and the programming is designed with a purpose.

What are you working on next?

Gym-wise, I really want to get a ring muscle up! Professional-wise, my position ends in October and I need a new job! Personal-wise, I am due for a nice vacation!
