You can’t out work a bad diet.
We have to say that again to make it stick.
Do you ever feel like you are always taking two steps forward, and one step back?
Have you reached a plateau?
Are you striving to achieve an improved body composition, but are not making any progress?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions above, then most likely you need to focus on your nutrition!
Nutrition is the base of the fitness pyramid.
All of your progress comes down to the 23 hours of the day that you are not in the gym.
You workout multiple times each week, and always give 100% in each workout. You can’t out work a bad diet.
Consistent nutrition habits are a sure way to make sure your workouts are working.
The key to success in nutrition is consistency.
The change you desire won’t happen overnight.
And, it will most likely take longer than 30 days to really see the results you’ve always wanted.
BUT, you have to start somewhere!
Nutrition is a tricky thing to navigate, but here are some tips to help you get started!
Find something you like and stick with it.
Stick to the perimeter of the grocery store; don’t go down the aisles.
Eat foods that don’t have an ingredients list, such as fresh vegetables.
Don’t eat anything that grandma didn’t have.
If you’d like to challenge yourself right off the bat, try a no-added-sugar challenge.
It’s simple, not easy, and it’s very effective.
You’d be surprised how often added sugar shows up in common things we ingest.
Make it a goal to focus on one habit this week.
Don’t try and change everything at once.
Focus on one thing, and do that one thing repeatedly until it becomes a habit, and then move to the next thing.
