Congratulations to July’s Member of the Month: Katie G!

Katie has been a member of Hustle One in West Ashley since May of 2020! Coming from a yoga background, Katie joined the gym because she knew she wanted to explore different areas of fitness. In doing so, she has greatly increased her muscle mass, has become stronger overall, and is one of the most consistent members at the gym!
If you’ve ever worked out with Katie, you know how motivating and encouraging she is!
She’s a great representation of our community at Hustle One, and we are thrilled to celebrate her in July as Member of the Month!

When did you join Hustle One Fitness?
May 2020!
What is your favorite thing about working out?
I have no idea how to pick just one thing. I love how grounded working out gets me. No matter where I am in life or around the world, working out reminds me of who I am and how far I’ve come. For me, working out has become a celebration of this beautiful journey of life. It teaches me that I always have something to be grateful for. Even in my lows or in the most stressful circumstances, I’m grateful to be alive and that I get to move my body.
What do you do when you are not at Hustle One Fitness? Favorite thing to do outside of the gym?
When I’m not at Hustle One you can find me on my mat or on a greenway walk. I love to spend time with friends in deep conversation over coffee or relaxing on the beach. I also love quiet time at home, cuddled up with my little Oliver.
When/How did you realize Hustle One Fitness was the right fit for you?
The community is everything to me.
I’m a completely different person than when I started training at Hustle One.
I eat and feel better. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been in my entire life. I owe that to the coaches and the community I consider family. I felt right at home when I first started and have made so many lasting friendships and deep connections.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Double smash burger and fries! (Yum!)
What is your favorite movement?
Probably a power clean. This full-body movement is my absolute barbell movement. Power cleans challenge me mentally and physically. This was the first movement that taught me how to get out of my head and my comfort zone.
What is something about you that Hustle One members do not know yet?
I hate being dirty. Absolutely hate it. In the summertime I shower about 2x a day and I wash my feet before I get into bed.
What advice would you give to someone just getting started at Hustle One Fitness? Why should others choose Hustle One Fitness?
Your out of gym lifestyle needs to balance the hard work you put in at the gym. Fuel yourself with enough protein and nutritious foods. Get plenty of sleep and rest. Give yourself so much grace. Recovery days are just as important as your active days. Have fun!!
