4 Tips for Healthy Eating

The holiday season can be a time of indulgence and over-eating, but that doesn’t mean we need to sacrifice our healthy eating habits.

Yes, I want you to enjoy this time with family and friends!

Don’t refuse the Christmas cookies as a gift because they don’t fit into your macros.

If you have a cookie once per day, or go out to a holiday happy hour, just make sure the rest of your day is near perfect.

What I mean by near perfect is: workout, drink plenty of water, and eat a ton of veggies and lean protein.

If you do those 3 things daily, even with all of the cookies, you won’t backslide as much as you think.

And if you want to take it a step further, here’s how to avoid the holidays snowball.

Here are a few tips for maintaining a healthy diet during the holidays:

  1. Don’t skip meals. It can be tempting to save up calories for holiday parties and feasts, but skipping meals can actually lead to overeating later on. Instead, eat regular, balanced meals throughout the day to keep hunger at bay and avoid overindulging.
  2. Make healthy choices. Just because it’s the holiday season doesn’t mean we need to abandon all healthy eating habits. Choose nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains to fuel our bodies and support our health.
  3. Practice moderation. It’s okay to indulge in holiday treats, but be mindful of portion sizes and balance them with healthy choices. Remember, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about making healthy choices and enjoying everything in moderation.
  4. Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water can help us feel full, support our metabolism, and flush out toxins. Try to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day, and avoid sugary drinks.

Let’s make a commitment to maintaining a healthy diet during the holiday season.

By making mindful choices and practicing moderation, we can enjoy the season without sacrificing our health.
