3 Tips For Staying on Track Over Summer
We are in the time of the year where most people hang up their gym shoes and call it quits until Labor Day.
Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
Summer parties.
Vacations or weekends out of town.
With all of these things going on, time is your most valuable asset.
We get it, between the obligations, heat and overall busyness of summer, fitness and nutrition often take a back seat.
One of our members was asked why she comes and works out at 5am on the days she works from home.
Her response: “There are a million things throughout the day that will steal my time. But nobody will steal my time at 5am.”
Our goal is to help you have the resiliency and perfect plan to get through the summer season.
It’s okay if you don’t make huge improvements this time of year! Maintaining your summer body and goals should be the focus now!
It’s amazing to maintain your current level of fitness and make ”me” time for yourself everyday.
Don’t back slide now, with the hopes you will be able to pick it back up on September 1st. That’s why we are here- to prevent backslide.
You’re going to take this summer by the horns and actually get through the season without taking dramatic steps back on your progress.
Here are our top 3 Steps For Staying On Track Through The Summer Season:
Drink Water!
Water is so overlooked when it comes to maintaining your current level of fitness.
Winter or summer, water is necessary to remain hydrated even through colder months. But, during warmer months- it’s the most important!
Generally, when hunger strikes you, you may be dehydrated and thirsty!
So, instead of reaching for the snacks in your pantry, reach for a glass of water.
Drink your water, and if you’re still hungry, reach for lean proteins and veggies.
Workout!
Workout for health.
Sweat for sanity.
Whatever the reason, workout!
Especially on weekends when you have a party or BBQ later in the day and you know you will eat and drink whatever you like, workout!
A good rule of thumb this time of year: Earn those carbs!
Our goal for you is to remain committed and confident to your workout routine.
That looks like crushing a great workout or personal training session in the morning, and then treating yourself with some snacks or drinks at the beach.
Give yourself grace!
Realize that you are going to mess up.
Realize that messing up is totally okay!
Giving yourself a hard time because you had an extra drink or dessert at a party does not make you a bad person.
Remember, long term habits are what create results whether in the good or the bad.
If you’re constantly beating yourself up for tiny missteps, then you’re putting your overall well-being at a disadvantage.
Our goal at our small, West Ashley gym is to help you reach your goals.
We do this by forming 1-on-1 personal connections with each client, so we can better understand your goals and the motivations to reach those goals.
It all begins with a free conversation with one of our professional coaches to build a path for you.

The first step is always the most difficult, but if you can take that first step, then you can accomplish anything.
